Spring is Upon Us!

Prayers Needed!!!

Hey everybody! Just a short note. (Oh, I had forgotten to mention last night, that Sabbath morning when we woke up we had a very light dusting of snow on the ground! That's probably why it was so cold that day on the hike, even though it was all melted before noon). Please, I ask you all, to pray for the safety of our church's building and property. It seems that last night our "future home of ..." sign and the plumbing sign were graffiti ed. The passageway under I-40 had been done sometime last week, as well as the stop sign, but this time it was our church's signs. We're thinking that the building is next (even though it's not finished and just plywood, it's still a nice big canvas for those artists). But not only do we need to pray for the people or person doing the artwork, they need help and God too! Anyway, thank you all for your prayers and time! God Bless to you too! ~Butterfly~

I'm Lovin' It!

Ahh! It's been so nice here the past few days! Yesterday was the warmest yet, 76.0F! It's was so awesome and lovely! Unfortunately for me, I didn't get to enjoy as much of it, as I wanted to! You see, we had to leave the house around 7:15 to take my dad into work so he could drive up to Denver for a business trip that afternoon. By the time we got all our shopping done, and went to our chiropractor appointment, ate lunch, and stopped by the library, it was already nearing two o' clock. As soon as we got back home, I started on my school work. But doing school in the afternoons is not my type of fun, so not to stress, I only did math, science, and geography. I did manage to squeeze about half an hour outside in the sun, wearing flip flops. I've changed my mind... I am so ready for summer! The warmth (just the preview we've had these past few days) has really got me motivated, dreaming, and waiting for summer to arrive. I like it either really cold (around 10F) or really warm (not hot though), the in the forty's or fifty's where you can't really enjoy it, isn't my thing. So this is really great! I'm not giving up on winter yet though, it's surprised in the past. Sometimes we'll get a late, heavy (heavy) snow storm in mid-late March, which dumps us about 1-2 feet! So we'll see, I haven't been keeping up with the weather reports lately. I just hope that's what happens. Just a nice refresher of snow and then warmness until fall again, that's what I'm praying for! Today though, I got done with school a little after noon. So I was able to spend a good hour or so, by myself, just goofing off, shooting some hoops, and riding/racing my bike around the property. I really enjoyed myself! And then this afternoon we went to the gym to exercise for fifty minutes or so. But I'm getting ahead of myself... On (last) Thursday evening we went to the local exercise place to check it out. We ended up joining and returning Friday afternoon for our "tour" and measurements, etc. I really enjoyed it and it didn't hurt my back a bit, which is good, since it is supposed to be helping it. I liked it so much, that my sister and I went back a second time with a friend of ours, later that afternoon! On Sabbath, we went to church, went hiking after potluck near a friend's house on a "mountain," and attended AY that evening. On the hike it was at or below 40F outside, and felt a bit cold, especially in the wind. But if you stood in the sun, it felt like a nice summer day in the shade! At AY we had a devotional (topic: Heaven!), sang a few great songs, and played (for about 30-45 minutes) hot potato, which we had a blast at! Instead of playing normally, the first time you were caught you had to pass the "potato" under one of your legs, the second time, under both legs (not simultaneously), the third catch behind you back and under both legs, fourth the same as three but with one hand, and the fifth time you were out! It was really fun and I thouroughly enjoyed it and myself! Sunday we were at the property for a while, it was nice and sunny, perfect for bicycling and being in the great outdoors. Unfortunately, I had (way) overdone it at the gym. Four rounds of the curcuit, (three being normal), on the first day, as well as having the machines set at a number four, where I should have had it on a one to begin with. So I was so sore, it hurt so bad, just to stand with weight on my legs. Then to top it all off, the hike on Sabbath did it! Amazingly though... The girls had brought their bikes and were racing across the property from the top to the bottom of the driveways. I decided to join in, on foot! And to my surprise when I was running along side my legs didn't hurt a bit and I was keeping up with the quite well. It's just walking that hurts, especially after being immobile for more than ten minutes or so. You should have seen me Sunday morning when I got out of bed, I was limping across the living room, muttering "owe, owe, owe." It was pretty funny! The rest of Sunday's afternoon I spent on the computer, and then outside with the neighbors, playing basketball and football (I mostly just watched, due to my aching legs). On Monday we worked out at the gym, did school, hung out with the neighbs all afternoon and part of the evening, and watched GYC in the afternoon. And that's what I've been up the past few days. And I should probably go for now, it's getting later and my sister is waiting patiently for her turn at the internet. On Friday we have to go pick my dad up at the airport, he's returning from Denver, so that's what the rest of my week looks like. Oh except for board meeting tomorrow night (which is over here), I'll probably just be doing school, dishes, vacuuming, hanging out with the neighbors, watching tv, internet, etc. etc. Horray everybody! (can you guess what movie that's from?) Hope you're all having a great time! And I'm praying for all of you, especially those of you (my close friends) who are in a foreign country for the next three weeks or so. March Already!!! How this year is flying by!

Hey everybody! So, I'm back to fill you in on where I left you hanging last time. Well that is for those of you who read the last post and haven't already heard the rest of the story. Last Friday the winds started up and haven't died down yet. Over the past few days we've had 60 MPH gusts and it sounds like a tornado outside right now. Surprisingly the roof of our tree house hasn't blown off, and it's surviving quite well at the moment. But back to the story, it's been really windy and after church on Sabbath we went over to a friend's home for potluck/lunch. We had haystacks, yummy! It was really good! And then we were there the rest of the afternoon and evening, finally leaving sometime after eight o' clock. We were stuck inside during our whole stay there, due to the strong winds outdoors. So we were bored to death, which led us to the craziest thing. We were so bored that we actually attempted to straightened our friend's hair, a guy's no less. You see he has really tight curls and we wanted to see what he would look like with "normal"/straight hair. At first he said no, and then he was going to allow "us" to straighten just a few strands. Well you probably know where that led to. "Well it doesn't look good enough, we have to do a few more to get the whole effect, and a couple more, and a couple more, etc." Well that's exactly what happened, we actually had to wash his hair (because of the massive amount of gel that he uses), towel dry it, blow dry it, and then we finally got around to straightening it. The results: it looked awful! (Well, at least I thought so, but maybe that's because I'm used to seeing him with curly hair). To put it to where you can imagine the style, without publicizing his photo, it looked like a big mop head from the 70s; poofy, ugly, and all. All in all, none of us there liked it and he ended up washing his hair again and gelling it, like usual. But bad news too! Come to find out, that he is moving back to Panama for two or three months. Looks like I'll have to get by without a friend for a while. No, it's not that I don't have any friends, just no local ones. All my other friends live out of state. So it's going to be rough(er). But I'll survive and get through it! All of you will just have to keep in touch more often! (Hint, HInt, HINt, HINT!) Sunday: A friend of mine picked me up and took me over to the church property, like normal. I had made sure the cell phone was all charged up and ready for use. So I talked on the phone for a couple hours to a couple friends and just sat in the warmth of my friend's car, in a window out of the wind, or just walked around seeing what everyone was doing. Oh and I did help a little bit, I picked up nails again, but not quite so many as the prior time. Finally around lunch time my mom brought us some hoagies, which were so delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it all! Then sometime later, after being there for six hours, my mom came and I went back home with her. And the rest of the evening I lounged about, checked my e-mail, talked with a friend, and watched TV. Oh, but I left out a big highlight of the day. My dad, sister, and her best friend had gone into town to my dad's work and then after that went to the (UNM: University of New Mexico) lady lobos (basketball) last home game of the season. They had a blast and my sister couldn't stop talking about how she got three of the lady lobos softball team's player's signatures, and hugged one of the basketball players, etc. etc. They had an awesome time! And to top it all off, the Lady Lobos won! Go Lobos!!! And the rest of this week, has been pretty boring. School, e-mail, dishes, chores, baking loaves of bread, cleaning my room, listening to the radio, dull, dull, dull. Oh, but I did make four dozen Oatmel Raisin cookies (well they're in the refrigerator waiting to be baked), and will make four more dozen of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies later today (after I get more chocolate chips), to sell at my dad's work. But too bad, none of you get any! Well, I probably won't get any of them for myself either, so wah! I should probably go, but I just remembered that my uncle called this morning and told us what my new(est) cousin is going to be. But, I can tell you yet, it's still a slight surprise! But I can't wait, only four more months or so, I really can't wait! You all have a great rest of your day! God Bless, ~Butterfly~
