Come Back Stronger Next Season! Go Lobos!!!

Hey everybody! Before I forget this, I had forgotten to mention that on Valentine's Day we got seven inches of snow and it was really pretty when I woke up. Anyway, I just happened to notice/realize that I never mentioned that incident. Anyway, I don't have time to write a whole big update at the moment, but I will sometime soon. But just to cap it in a brief sentence, this is what will be mentioned next time. Went to church, straightened a friend's hair (a guy's no less) from total boredom, found out that one of my (only/nearest my age) friend in these parts (who we straightened his hair, yes, same person) is moving back to Panama for about two-three months, and I went to the property again for six hours today, back home, family went to the lady lobos's (basketball) last home game of the season, find out later who won, talking to a great friend, and will have to go now. OK, hope that keeps your attention to come back again. BTW: the straightened hair part is pretty funny! I'll talk to you all later. God Bless, ~Butterfly~

Go Lobos!!!

Hey everybody! Well, the lady Lobos won their basketball game on Valentine's, by eleven points! Go Lobos! It was a good game! As I've said before, I'd never been to a basketball game before, and never really ever watching a game either, for that matter. I enjoyed it, except for the fact that sitting on a bench seat for two and a half hours really didn't feel good at all on my back, but I survived it! I like the sport itself, except that it's competition, but the noise in The Pit was too much at times. But all in all, it was great! I doubt I'll ever go to another game again though, well, I'm not planning to anyway. Anyway, the rest of the week has been good, Saturday was OK, not the best. Our dog, Risa, ran away twice, wasting about three-four hours of our time chasing her around the entire neighborhood. And that evening we went to a church board meeting at a member's/friend's home. Our church is coming along very nicely and they decided they better have a meeting to choose what color stucco, window trims, roofing, etc. they want so we don't take any unnecessary time deciding that when the time comes to do so. I don't know what that chose, because I didn't participate in the meeting, I hung out with all the little kids in the other room. Yesterday I spent nine hours at the church property, from eight thirty am - five thirty pm. It was a long day and I was sore by the end of it! I spent about an hour and a half or so bend up and down picking up a ton of nails that a useless, just left lying around the building! We only picked up about 1/4 - 1/3 of them, but it was half of a nail bucket, even then! Luckily both of our cells were charged up, so I talked on the phone for three hours, but even then with about four-five hours of doing mostly nothing, it gets quite old! And I was so tired last night, I slept in quite late this morning, but finished with school early. Figure that one out! Anyway, that's what I've been up to for the past few days! Go Lobos!

Hello! Guess what? We've had a change in weather here. As most of you probably know, it's been fairly warm here in the Land of Enchantment, reaching seventy-one degrees in Albuquerque. As a result of the warmness, snow is out of the question! So Sabbath (Saturday) night while we were all asleep it rained. With the warmer and dryer forecast of the past week (I know that's a contradiction!) the snow had begun to melt and the "muddy" patches were beginning to dry up, creating less of a mess for our dog to romp around in! So when we woke up Sunday morning dry spot that had been there when we went to bed, was once again thoroughly soaked. It continued to rain throughout the rest of the morning-noontime. I actually did make it out to the church property, although for not longer than an hour. The rain was only a drizzle when we arrived, but it began to pick up and start pouring those buckets on us and drenching you if you stood in the open. When it started more heavily and the roads began to get slushy again I headed back home. My dad came back home not too long after that, because working up on a "roof" (plywood, twelve feet in the air), and it dumping moisture, it isn't that safe on a slippery surface. Today we got hail and rain throughout the afternoon, receiving just enough to keep the mud from drying out! And of course it's been very overcast most of the day, as another storm moves into the area this evening! It hasn't been getting below freezing for over a week now, but that is about to change. A low pressure/cold front is headed our way, bringing with it more moisture, hopefully this time in the form of snow! All this rain has melted our foot and half of snow that remained in the front yard (south side!) down to about four inches or so. That means it's due time for another winter storm in the Edgewood/Moriarty area! On Wednesday night, we are going to be attending the Lady Lobo Basketball game at the UNM Pit/Arena. It's for my sister's best friend's birthday! The lobos [go (UNM) Lobos!] will be trying to defeat Colorado State. (a lobo is a type of wolf). I've never gone to a basketball game, in fact I've never been to a sports game at all, for that matter, so this should be an interesting event! Well, it's been going good here I guess, except for the fact that should go in the kitchen and do the dishes! But there has been some matter going around involving myself and others and it's really been trying, so if you could keep this confidential matter in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated! Business! (No, not business, BUSY-NESS!)

Hello Everyone! P.S. Yes, that photo of the moon was taken through binoculars! It's really neat, huh? I don't know about you all, but January just seemed to fly by and before you know it this whole new year will be passed us. Especially for this past week, it has seemed to race past me and yet we've been so busy. For Tuesday we were in town, like we are every other Tuesday! As always it's a extremely hectic/busy day, trying to cram two weeks worth of errands into one day! First we have to complete all our school work for the day and then get to town-to our chiropractor appointment(s), then do shopping at a couple-few stores, and try to make it to the library on the way home, by six 'o clock. It's nearly impossible most weeks, but every once in a while we accomplish everything. This past Tuesday we got most of all of we wanted to do done, except one or two items. But luckily we also had to go to town Wednesday (yesterday), so that was fine. Normally whatever we didn't get finished would have to wait another two weeks (which sometimes things happen to get "put off" for six-eight weeks or more..., as some IMPORTANT things do. I apologize to those three friends down south who know what I mean!). Yesterday we "had to" go to town, because our homeschooling friends were all going on an outing; to ride the Rail Runner. (play off of Road Runner-but this is a train!) We've all rode it before, as I probably mentioned back about three-four months, (north) to Bernalillo from Albuquerque and back. But just this last Friday (almost a week ago) they finally opened it (south) to Belen! Since it is !NEW! it's FREE to ride for the first few weeks-months, or whatever. So we did that yesterday, which it wasn't the funnest thing I've ever done, but I do have to admit that I enjoyed it a bit, even though I thought I wouldn't. (Oh if you click on the link above for the Rail Runner, it shows a photo of what it looks like, on the top of their web page. On the middle car, I sat in the second top (yes, second story!) window from the right! Anyway, that was our adventure for the day! And then we ran more errands the rest of the day, finally coming up with something to get (what we've been "putting off" for those past few weeks, for those of you three again, hint, hint!), but the store had already closed, so sorry guys, it'll be another two weeks before we know if we've come up with a good idea for you all! Bummer, I know! Anyway, because we had two very jam-packed (what about the Peanut Butter?) past days, I didn't get much school work done at all yesterday. So today was make-up day (the only kind of make-up I'll ever do/wear!), and I'm worn out and tired from all that school work! I don't know how some people just stay up late and study all night! Oh and guess what? Yesterday it got up to 71 degrees in Albuquerque yesterday, and 64.8 here at the house! That's the record for the year. (-1.3 & 64.8) It's pretty nice! And today it is again 64.4 so it's really awesome! In fact you know what? I think I'm going to close up on the computer and go outside with my sister and the neighbors! On Sabbath (Saturday!) evening, I'll be going to a Youth Rally in Rio Rancho, so that'll be lots of fun. Our church is hosting the AY program (Adventist Youth), doing the game and devotional. Hey Guys! Yesterday was the warmest day yet of the year, as of right now. 57.6. But that may not last for long as the temperature is gradually rising today as well. Yesterday we were out at the church property from 9:30 - 6:40 so it was a very long day, with no lunch for me. Thankfully it was warm and felt lovely, but the wind was not that great and dried me out. I took about eighty photos while the guys (about ten of us all together) put the trusses up on the building. Thankfully there were no accidents, as being twelve feet in the air can be quite dangerous. Down below is a picture of the next to last truss going up on the property and this photo here is of the moon Saturday evening, it was great! And this photo above I took through binoculars with my camera, it was awesome! I love the detail and how it looked yellow! Anyway, that's my news. I just thought I'd share with you all that I possibly may be getting a "real" website and getting rid of this blog. Well I wouldn't get rid of it, but I wouldn't be using it. More Snow!

Hello! We'll I have a good excuse for not being on here for a while. I had something that was motivating me to finish it. Last Thursday I made a quilt for my sister and surprisingly finished it that same day. But it was only twin sized (4' x 6'). Here is a picture of it. I apologize for the blobs of yellow, those were pictures of people that I didn't want to publicize, so that's why they're there. Now, on Sunday I began to cut out ten inch squares for another quilt that I've been working on all week. My first attempt at a queen sized. Cutting out 99 squares (11 squares by 9 squares) is quite a task, and your back gets very sore from all that bending over. It takes approx. one and a half-two minutes per square, so you can imagine the job I had set before me. Then after cutting it all out, I had to iron it all, sew them all together; row by row. And then sew all the rows together. I finally finished ironing sometime Tuesday, Wednesday evening I finished sewing all the rows. And yesterday morning I finished attaching all the rows. Yesterday afternoon I began the chore of cutting out all the six pieces for the backing. Finally doing that, I started to sew them all together. Getting that accomplished I laid it all out on the living room floor, got it all where it should be, cut any excess off, and started pinning it all together (the backing, batting (stuffing), and front.). After around five-six hours of working yesterday I completed it right before six pm. Now all I have to do to it is tie the corners where the squares meet, so it doesn't get all bunched up when it's washed. I could quilt it, by hand, but that's an awful lot of work, and tieing it is easier for me. I tied two ties today, and only have two-three dozen more or so to go. Here is the final picture of it. And also here is a picture of another quilt that I made last October. I made one in 2004 for my sister, but was in a hurry to finish it and it's quite sloppy. A friend made me one in 2004 (but I bought all the materials), but I don't have photos of the last two mentioned, sorry. Maybe another day. And here is a picture taken last week of our house. All that snow is from the huge storm that hit us New Years weekend, yes a month ago. Amazingly it's still here, and we have two feet still right up in the front of the house, in the shade where it never melt. It's awesome!

1. And guess what? It's snowing really heavily again right now, swirling all around the yard.

Anyway, that's my news. Oh yeah, here is a picture of our church, it is almost completely framed and ply-wooded (?). It's really progressing quite fast, thanks to all the help we've been getting on Sundays and during the week as well.
